We had a LeMans in our shop today that would lose power after passing through 5000 rpm. Found the aluminum foil heat shield glued to the bottom of the tank was getting sucked down on the open air filter and shutting off the air. The airbox lid was removed about three weeks ago. There was a perfect imprint of the air filter in the aluminum heat shield. We glued the heat shield back to the tank and fashioned a cage over the air filter out of welding rods in case it comes lose again.
