Removing Glass and Bevels on your gauges.

> Do I need a special tool to take off the rim and cover glass from the gauges?

I can only speak for the rims on the T3/Sp type instruments: no special tool is needed. The rim must be gently pried open at the back, NOT on the raised face which clamps the glass. Doing so is the hallmark of a hamfisted idiot because the dents which will inevitably be made in the very soft aluminium rim will stay there forever and
spoil the looks of an otherwise good looking instrument. Dents on the bottom or back (unavoidable) of the instrument are hidden from view.

When replacing the rim, the opened section is simply bent back and stroked flush with a fingernail - no crowbar needed.
